I am quite sad at David’s passing. I am 64 and have been a fan of his since the age of 16. I first saw him in Here Come the Brides. Then later in Starsky and Hutch. He was a great actor and a good singer. I wish to convey my heartfelt condolences to his family.

I started watching starsky and hutch at 14. I couldn’t wait to see it week after week. I just found out and I’m so sad I love him and hoped to meet him one day. I’m 61 now. His memory will live on in my heart. Rest in peace!

It’s still hard to accept that he’s gone, my memories of the 70s are largely about the show and his music. I was a huge fan of Starsky & Hutch and I still own his first two albums – the original ones I got when I was 13-14 years old. In fact, they’re the only things I still have from that time, and mean so much to me that they were among the very few things I brought with me when I moved to Australia. I bought a ticket to see him in concert in 2000 but sadly the concert was cancelled. I hoped to meet him one day, but sadly never got the chance. I’m lucky enough to have an autographed CD from him which I will always treasure. RIP David, you brought great joy to so many, and you’ll be missed.

  7. Mary Leigh :

David you got me through my parents Divorce in the late 70s and so many of your songs mean so much to me. Seeing you in quite a few of your theatre performances throughout the year’s and meeting you afterwards was such a privilege. Seeing you sing in 1972 was fantastic.
You should still be here with that gorgeous smile I loved so much but God only takes the Best and he must have needed you . RIP David Soul you may have gone but you will never be forgotten by your fans.

My heartfelt condolances to David’s Family and to Paul and Antonio. David, you will so very missed. You brought happiness and joy to so many of us over the years. I never had the privilege to me you in person, that would have been wonderful. You had such a loving and giving heart and cared so much. You have taught me alot about living life and trying new things.
You and Paul brought me so much happiness and love through Starsky and Hutch during my sad and dark days. Taught me alot about friendship and caring. I thank you both so very much for that. I just can’t put into words what I’m feeling with your loss. We will all work together to keep Your Memory alive.
Helen, Family and Paul and Antonio, I pray you will in time find peace and be able to remember David with a lot of love and laughter. Please take care of yourselves. We’re all thinking about you. 💞🙏🥺

  12. Sue :

You have been my hero for 40+ years. Blonde bombshell. Went to see you at the theatre and saw you afterwards. You touched my hair and I just froze. The pen you used to give me an autograph I still have.
I was very shocked and saddened when I heard you’d gone. But like everybody else we have our memories. You will not be forgotten by me.
    RIP DAVID. 💔🥲

First and foremost I wish to extend my condolences on the loss of David to Helen and the entire Solberg family circle.

In the announcement of his passing Helen mentioned the many lives he touched. I am one of those people. I started watching “Hutch” as a kid in the 70’s looking for escapism. I continued to follow David’s career and in the late 90’s I arranged to go to a play in London at the New End Theatre in Hamstead with a group of friends. As a wheelchair user flights and trip were planned meticulously. All went well, met before the show – greetings, hug, chat – enjoyed the show. After the play was finished, we could not get an accessible taxi to stop to take me back to my hotel. We waited for well over 2 hours on a freezing night. My friends then went to the hotel across the street to phone a taxi. The next thing I heard was a familiar voice say “My dear lady you must be freezing!” Then he physically assisted me down steps me into that hotel, got me coffee to warm me up and then went out hailed a taxi and paid for it. I was extremely moved (if a little embarrassed) that he went out of his way to do that for me and it is something that I will never forget. He will always have a special place in my heart because of the kindness and respect he showed me.

  14. Laura :

Sending my deepest condolences. I was 14 in 1976 and loved S&H. It was ground breaking TV..in latter years I enjoyed reading David’s opinions on Twitter. A wonderful actor and intelligent, passionate man. Rest in Peace and thank you for all the happy memories xx

  15. Paula Hewitt :

To Helen and all of David’s family, I send you my deepest condolences. David’s death has left a hole in so many people’s hearts. He was not my first crush but he was the only one who endured through my late teens, into adulthood and now in my 60s. I am so glad to have my DVDs and CDs to see and hear him whenever I want. I have happy memories of attending a concert in my home town of Preston in March 1980. David stayed on stage afterwards, signing autographs, but I was too shy to go up myself. Fast forward to ComicCon in Liverpool in 2017 – still too shy and stage-struck to strike up a conversation but I have autographs and a photo which will be treasured for ever. RIP dear David.
