With the sale of the 300th Picturing David Soul book, published by David Soul Fans (DSF), a donation of $1,000 each in David Soul’s name was given to The Animals Voice, Idaho Black Bear Rehab, and Mending Hearts Horse Rescue (a supported project of The Animals Voice).
Thank you to everyone who purchased the book (which is still for sale, by the way) and for enabling donations to be made in David Soul’s name to these worthy causes. And thank you, especially, to David Soul — for making this possible at all.
The Animals Voice was founded by Laura Moretti as an independent nonprofit organization to report the news, campaigns, goals, philosophies, and other outreach product from any and all groups working on behalf of animals around the world. Its purpose is to educate a global community about the living and dying conditions of animals in human hands and to eliminate their use and exploitation.
ABOUT IDAHO BLACK BEAR REHAB (IBBR)
Sally Maughan founded this unique refuge to rehabilitate and give homes to orphaned black bears. David Soul wrote, “When I first heard about the work that Sally does to give orphan cubs a second shot at a life of freedom in the wild, I didn’t dream that I would actually get the chance to meet her and see for myself the wonderful work that she is doing. The success of this remarkable project is really down to Sally’s incredible commitment to rehabilitating cubs that come into her care year after year — and to the kind support of animal lovers like you.” To learn more about David’s visit to IBBR, please use this link to a four-part video.
ABOUT MENDING HEARTS HORSE RESCUE
Mending Hearts is a non-profit organization dedicated to advocating for horses through education and media, as well as providing rehabilitation and “forever homes” to rescued, older horses. It is located at the Covered Bridge Equestrian Center in Felton, California, and operated by Michele Lamelin.
Neither DSF nor David Soul makes any profit from the sale of Picturing David Soul; all proceeds from each sale are donated to the animal charities designated by him.
